Yooooo, today’s been one of the longest of my life and I’m
really glad I’m still alive to share it with you (staying alive is one of my
main goals in life).
The gang met at 2.30am to check in for the ferry at 3.30am. Only 3 hour sleep! It was so early, it
was late: peak time at the burger van and flocks of orange girls trying to find
a way home.
I hate this picture of the ferry, it brings back bad
memories of sleepy eyes and bad breath:
Also, on Isle of Man this
week is the TT Festival: motorcycle races and other festivities that us lot pedestrians wouldn’t understand.
After Snakes on a Plane, Bikes on a Boat:
I fell asleep and we got onto the Island
eventually. First thing you see is a mini 3 meter high tower on a mini island.
Whoever built that liked wasting time and resources, or maybe it’s just medieval
modern art…
This is what Isle of Man
looks on a sunny Saturday morning:
You know there’s no bboys there because no council in its
right state of mind would have free plugs in the street! It would be a block
party every night at this spot:
I stayed pretty much in the convoy all day instead of doing
street shows. It was fun waving and smiling at people for 6 hours. The funniest thing of
the day was definitely the media van! BBC is the official media of the Olympic
Torch Relay and they always have a van at the front of the torch so they
can broadcast the tour live and direct. Normally, they have a pimped out horse
box with modern kitchen, plasma screen TVs, high speed internet and comfortable
seats. This is what they got for the day…
A rubbish van, litterally!!!
(free air con at least).
We finished the day at Castle
Town in the South of the Island. People said they had never seen that many people
lined up in the streets, we rocked the place, great feeling!
Took the ferry back at 8pm, ended up near Blackpool, drove to Liverpool, got to bed at 2.30am. Yes that is a 24 hour
work day!!!
