April 2013: South of France!

We're back! In France, in English this time!

I spent 1 week in the South of France to see my friends and visit the area. You'd think that it was really warm and sunny at this time of the year. Well... NO! The weather was ok, it wasn't amazing, but at least, we escaped the rain!

TOULOUSE

So I landed in Toulouse. The place is called "Pink City" because of the colour of the bricks. You know I like pictures more than anything else so here we are:

-Toulouse is located in the Midi-Pyrenees, south near Spain basically, no lie:

-Le Capitole, like the town hall or central square (mega expensive hot chocolate around there lol):
,  Colorful!

-Inside the Capitole, smiling staute of Henry the 4th, big dog:

-La Basilique St Sernin, Romane style:

-La Garonne!!! (with the local accent, "lah garrrrroneuh):

-They write the name of the street in French and in Occitan (Southern dialect):

-Cheeky training session at the train station, so good to dance in the street!

CORDES SUR CIEL

This little town north of Toulouse was built in 1222 precisely is considered one of the most beautiful villages in France... It's true, they don't lie! When you drive toward the town, the whole village is up on the hill, it looks amazing!

-One of the gates:

-None and Sophie, just chilling in the street:

-View from the top of town:

ALBI

Another really nice town.

-Cathedrale Sainte Cecile and its crazy gate:

-Inside, gothic meridional style:

-This is inside some church's backyard, arty!

-I told you it was a nice town:

BORDEAUX

We then moved on to the weeeeeeeeeeeeeest side!

-First thing we did was to go a very local battle in Castillon. Very local indeed (I've tried to look for footage but no luck so far, boooo):

-Around there is full of vineyards! This picture doesn't show how much they produce, it was crazy, grapes everywhere!!!

-In Bordeaux we've got Place des Quinconces (pretty big in European standard from what they say) with the monument for Girondins!

-The longest commercial street in Europe: Rue Sainte Catherine, so long you can barely see the end:

-Eglise Saint Michel, pretty good picture this one!!!

-They have a really good skatepark too:

-Of course, we went training. I forgot to take a picture of one of the rooms where Animaniaxxx train. But we trained in this other place, best room ever: killa floor, nice sound system, some natural light:

-The best gate in town:

-We finish the day nicely with the hypest kebab in town, featuring my 2 guides Badou and Chloe:

In other news...

-Horse meat for days!

-Straight up French breakfast:

-Straight up French car, 4L baby!

-Bordeaux was run by the English at one point, "have it!"

-Newschool Catholic stained-glass window!

-Best meal of the year!!! Poulet yassa by Madame, delicious!!!

Specials remerciements a None, Sophie, Badou, Chloe, Kiki et Hassan et Madame Sarr. J'ai ete accueilli comme un roi!
C'est quand meme pas mal le sud hein?!?
